            The segment header contains three types of information.  First is the station number, in this instance 32.  The second is the station type.  The indication of type 1, indicates that this station is freeway off ramp.  (See below for the various types of stations.)  The third is a description of the station, in this case indicating a freeway off-ramp to the northbound 101. 

 

            There is also an indication that this is a phantom off-ramp.  The actual off-ramp carries all the traffic for the 101, both north and south.  As we are interested in conflicts, we are obliged to split the two.  Using the adjusted data for the actual off-ramp, we split it into north and south components in proportion to101 data.

 

            If a quota is specified for this station, the quota is listed as shown, in this instance, the quota is 4.  If following the quota, there is an indication such as;

 

10  + 1.1000e-002, 1.1000e-003, 1.1000e-004

 

      This is an indication that in addition to a regular quota of 10, a probability of 1.1 % of the time an additional vehicle is added to the packet.  Correspondingly, 0.11 % probability exist for a second, and 0.011 % exists for a third.

 

            Also, there are no heading titles, only a numerical designation.  The titles are found listed below.

 

            The conflicts are listed separately for each freeway ramp, both on and off, under their own designation.  Please note that the total do not add to the columns above, rather it is the weighted total (i.e., a conflict with two vehicles counts twice as much as a single vehicle.)   If there is simply a single notation for conflict, such as  <1.000e-5; this is an indication that no conflicts were calculated.

            2          On-ramp from another freeway

            3          Ordinary off-ramp

           4           Ordinary on-ramp

            5          Cross-traffic, traffic on receiving freeway.  An indication of
